People Center for Development and Peace(PDP-center) has been established by a group of people who used to work in the movements of youth since 1992. This group of people has a concept in strengthening the movement of new people for participation in construction of society in the field of human rights, democracy, peace, welfare and freedom in Cambodian society. Furthermore, the establishment of People Center for Development and Peace is to participate in addressing a number of problems which are deteriorating Cambodia, the problems with priority are poverty, corruption,impunity, loss of land, trafficking of women and children, drug trafficking and the lack of guaranteeing people’s health…etc.
These serious confrontations, if there is no seeking for remedy to curb and prevent, they will cause a severe detriment to Cambodia to fall into even deeper poverty situation.The new concept finds that the effective approach such consist of group of people with a strong commitment for participation in addressing and prevention then will bring about a society with respect, tolerance, guaranteeing ofhealth and no corruption. Whereas, in Cambodian society has many problems to be addressed that’swhy “People Centerfor Development and Peace” was established on November 20, 2004 under the initiative of founders of Khmer Youth Association so as to continue the ideal of promotion of freedom and transparency in Cambodia.

Objective
- Conceptualization of democracy, defense of human rights, transparency and active non-violence amongst of Cambodian people and youth.
- Reduction of drug abuse to a minimum level and improvement the welfare of Cambodian people and youth.
- Fostering of state institution to establish and upgrade state’s policy in order to prevent the addicted-substance affect, destruction of fundamental rights and the closure of freedom of expression of people and youth.
- Preparation of network and compilation of communities for protection of interests of people in local areas.
- Building of relationship with both local and international organizations around the world for mutual sharing of information and broadening advocacy network.
